Unboxing the Nikon D40 and Nikkor 18-55mm AF-S DX VR lens
March 22, 2010 - 5:08 am
This is my third Unboxing video and this time its my first Digital SLR camera, the Nikon D40 and the Nikkor 18-55mm VR lens. It is a very good beginner/amateur DSLR, has tons of features and is very easy to use. The Help menu is a blessing to every beginner!!!
Sorry about my poor voice; after a hard day’s work my energy meter was a bit low. I would really appreciate if you could limit your comments to the camera/lens.. Any positive or constructive criticism is also appreciated.

This is a very nice …
This is a very nice camera and if you know how to take a great picture this camera can easily go head to head with what the pro’s are using. A great picture is all in the person not the gear but the camera maker needs to stay in business, so they push pricey gear we really do not need. For most people the D40 is all the camera you will ever need

The Fact that it is …
The Fact that it is a “G” lens has nothing to do with it. Every lens w/o a aperture ring is a “G” lens, even the kit lens is a “G” lens. The reason the d40(x) and d60, can’t autofocus with non AF-S lenses, is because they have no focus motor in the camera body. AF-S lenses, use a motor that is built into the lens to focus, so they require to no motor in the body.
