Sanyo loaned me a waterproof camera – it is an amazing bit of kit. It takes good video and excellent stills – waterproof down to 1.5 meters. People tell emthat they use them in swimming pools and it certainly survived the kite surfing.

Does anyone own this camera? What are the reviews on it? Pros and cons?
I would definitely go with that camera in that price range.
Pros- It has a 10X optical zoom with a 3.5 aperture. That’s an awesome lens. It has the fastest click to capture (shutter delay) in cameras this price range (something like .3 seconds!) A 10 meg sensor is plenty of resolution for even 30×40 prints, so the sensor is more than adequate. You can even shoot movies in high definition
Cons-If you wanted an SLR, this is a non-removable lens. (not that you would need another one)

This is basically the second half of my review of my newly purchased ATC3K. You can check the other one out on my page (click my user name).
In the first half I was focusing on lighting more, and the second was my big test for that vibration “warble” that I kept getting warned about in other video reviews. You’ll see my results.
I left all the original sound in for your benefit, but you’ll get the point pretty quickly and just mute your computer.
Basically, it’s a camera designed for “fun” footage that you’ll eventually use in other formats, such as this more “polished” video showing clips from the “vibration” portion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpk4NPZKfFk
Last thought: the quality is actually better than what YouTube puts out (even on the High Def setting). But since I’m guessing most of the stuff anybody will film with an ATC will be YouTube bound, this should give you a good sense of the end product.
It’s not a serious/professional video camera, but it’s serious and cheap fun!
