It is a play kids camera toy that he will prabably want a "REAL" camera like a Kodak, Canon, Nikon, or Fujifilm. I don't think you will get any critical reviews on it. It is really a digital version of the old "Instamatic". Fixed focus (at about ten feet) and no adjustments. I am sure that it will be a wonderful untroduction to capturing images for a 7 year old + child. When your child shows added interest in taking photos of his/her friends and favorite subjects and shows responsiblity in caring for it, you can later consider a more powerful digital from Canon or Nikon ... the two leaders in professional photography and thus make some fine point and shoot cameras.
