Photoshop Lens Flare vs. Knoll Light Factory

April 30, 2010 - 12:20 pm 19 Comments

Knoll Light Factory allows you to create lights and lens flares in an unlimited number of ways. You can create hundreds of variations from uber-realistic flares based on real camera lenses to totally other worldly fantasy light effects.

This video compares it to the built-in Lens Flare filter in Photoshop. There’s not really much of a comparison since you only get 4 presets with the built-in filter and the only adjustment you can make is to the Brightness. But watch this short video and see for yourself! Go to www.digitalanarchy.com for more info.

Stalman Talks Photography – Episode 4, Part 2
stalman.ca

An overview of the top three video DSLRs out right now from Canon – the 5D markII, 7D and T2i. A tough choice, and each of these cameras has it’s roll to play.

By the way, this video was shot on the T1i, and it was a terrible experience. Moire, artifacting, auto white balance and exposure changing mid scene, it drove me up the wall. Great for stills, not so great for video.

Thanks to thecamerastore.com for loaning their demo model of the T2i, as of this writing they are hard to get a hold of around here.
