This is a review of my new camera, the Kodak Play Sport. This is a $149.99 camera and I highly recommend it! It shoots 1080p HD, 720p HD 60 fps

They’re about even. The Zi8 gets the advantage of having an aux microphone jack and closeup macro zoom but the Playsport gets the advantage because it’s waterproof up to ten feet, much more rugged, has better firmware and a slightly better video quality and actually costs about $60 cheaper.
So I would recommend that you check out a review of the Zi8 and then compare the two.

The camera records to .mov format.
My test footage was unedited. It was just raw footage and I wanted to do it that way so that viewers would know the true quality that this camera provides.

@cobr43 it’s an outdoors camera…sure you can use it indoors but to have a live shoot feature for a camera that was meant for outdoors use would be pointless. besides no one really wants to be tethered by a cable to a tv no big deal in plugging in a hdmi right after filming.

It hooks up to a tripod just like any other camera would.
I’m not sure how to describe it but I’m pretty sure it’s universal. It has the same screw hole as my 4 other cameras and it hooks up fine with all of my 3 tripods.
So I’m pretty sure that will not be an issue.

There is no microphone output sadly. The Playsport’s sister camera, the Kodak Zi8 does have a microphone jack though.
If that is a feature that you really need then I would recommend that you do some research about the Kodak Zi8.

I would go for this camera. The Playsport is cheaper in price, $149.99
You can put in any size SD card you want (up to 32GB)
You can film underwater
It’s also much smaller
So yeah, I would recommend this over the Flip UltraHD.
So far I have no complaints with this camera.

It does not come with a wide angle lens but I have seen people put a wide angle lens on its sister camera the Kodak Zi8 so it may be possible
