What is the best video camera to film skateboarding?
So my boyfriends birthday is in May and I want to get him something really nice. He really loves to skateboard and is really good at it. But his digital camera got stolen so he can’t record or take anything of him and his friends skating. So I wanna buy him a video camera any suggestions? The amount doesn’t really matter to much
ok, i am also a skateboarder, so hear me out. this is a very controversial subject. ask him how serious he is about making skate videos, and how much his camera was before. if it was in the 1000’s or 2000’s of dollars, that might be what you want to look at. also, make sure it has what he wants and can be customizable, such as fisheyes(type of lens), camera handles, and so on. he might prefer a sd card recorder over a mini dv(little vcr tapes), so be sure to ask him. good luck on your purchase!!!

I have a Flip Video Camera, and it rocks! It’s portable, but when you make videos and hook the camera up to your USB in your PC, you do all kinds of cool stuff. You can make movie mixes, put background music, and it’s only £50 or $99!

Personally, Im a skater. Really good skateboard filmers and editors get the really good stuff, like Sony vx 2100s or 2000s or rare occasions have Canon gl2s or the newer ones. But those cost like, $2000. From experience, I would buy a SD card memory based, or hard drive based camcorder like the JVC Everio GZ-MG330H, like my friend has. Those are cheaper, and way easier to use because you don’t have miniDV tapes like the pro camcorders use and you don’t have to buy firewire cables to upload footage onto the computer, like I did, but not a pro camera. SD card and hard drive based cams just need the USB cord.
